Here we are looking at a 1/25th scale 1959
Ford Country Sedan wagon. I used a Jimmy
Flintstone resin body. Unless you like a lot of
prep work you may consider a Modelhaus kit.
I rate this body a 3 out of a possible 10. The
front and rear Ford emblems were very weak.
I ended up cutting an emblem for the front off
of a AMT 60 ford hood and mounting it. I
used the rear one . The side script however,
is very crisp and good. The body required a
lot of sanding, filling, and general prep. It
comes with the front and rear bumpers
unplated.

With all this said, at 19.95 for this body and
bumpers, compared to around 90.00 or so
dollars for the Modelhaus kit, you can use a
Amt 57 ford doner kit with this one and  some
extra parts, you can build a nice example for
a fraction of the cost. I used Bare Metal  ultra
bright foil on the bumpers. This foil is much
heavier than the regular foil and provides a
nice looking bumper, plus you can rub it all
day and never rub through it. Regular Bare
Metal foil was used for the rest of the chrome.

This car was built for a customer after a car
that he bought new in 1959. I was painted in
Wedgewood blue and Colonial white. I
ordered the dog dish hubcaps, and the proper
ball type fender ornaments from Modelhaus.
a Nomad was bashed for the cargo area, and
the tires are vintage AMT. I trimmed the rear
glass from the doner kit for the rear glass.
The front glass is also 57 Ford. The side
glass was cut from mylar sheeting. The rims
are AMT 56 Ford, they worked the best for
the small caps. The doner kit was used for
the rest of the car.

This is a curbside model, so the hood does
not open. I did install the engine to give the
underside a better detailed look. The Country
Sedan was the mid line wagon, with the
Ranch Wagon being lower, and the Country
Squire at the top of the line. Ford also offered
a 2dr. wagon in 59.
