here is the famous Junior Johnson
Nascar 1963 Chevrolet Impala Z11. The
Holly Farms car. Pro built in 1/25th
scale. This car was built for a client from
Kentucky.
Alot of scratch building was done to get
this car correct.  The interior was done
from reference of the early version of
this car. Hoping to buy an aftermarket
rollbar was futile. It stated just trim to
fit. Right, hard to trim something that is
too short to begin with, so I ended
up scratch building it myself. The
steering wheel is hand wrapped and the
gauges were placed from reference. It is
about as correct as it gets. A combination
of AMT and revell parts were used as
well as many self built parts. It features
the 427 mystery motor, or Z11 motor.
Many photo etch pieces were also used.

I was a Nascar fan when they ran cars
like this. The factory cars, one you could
buy at the dealer. You know, race on
Sunday, buy on Monday was the saying.
Imagine this car, full frame, heavy metal
car being catapulted around the track at
165+ miles per hour, as Junior did with
this one. As far as Nascar today, I find it
about as interesting as paint drying.

I can almost smell the hi test gas.
