This is an original issue AMT 1966
Chrysler Imperial, kit # 6816 To start
off AMT never had the correct rear
Bumper in this kit. Instead they
changed the year on it, but it was
actually a 1965 bumper. It had the
backup lights next to the tail lights.
In 1966 Chrysler extended the
tailights and moved the backup lights
to the lower part of the bumper. I
corrected this by extending the
tailights and scratch building backup
lights, installing them in the proper
place. Even the promo version was
wrong.

This car is airbrushed in the correct
factory color of Spanish Red. The
interior is highly detailed with Bare
Metal Foil and hand painted
woodgrain accents. The exterior is
correctly foiled and detailed. The
engine bay features the 440ci. engine
with dual quads. The chassis is also
detailed.

The 440ci. engine was new for 1966,
replacing the 413. The dual quads
were a little known special order on
this car. Take a look by enlarging the
pictures. This was one nice Imperial.
