| Here we have a rare AMT original issue 1964 Pontiac Tempest Lemans convertible, kit #5614 This kit is 42 years old and has never been reissued. I built this car using the factory colors of Yorktown Blue for the exterior, and Parchment for the interior. The paint was airbrushed and clearcoated, then rubbed out. All the chrome work was done with Bare Metal foil. The tail lights were washed with silver for the proper look of this car. Rear center panel and hubcaps were shadowed for a very realistic appearance. The engine bay was completely detailed, and wired with an Arrowhead Aluminum Products distributor and plug wires. It was then plumbed with heater hoses. The engine is a 326 ci. 4bbl. This kit never came with the convertible top. I contoured one using a Lindberg Oldsmobile top as a base. The interior is highly detailed, with all the gauges done and foiled. The chassis was completely done and simulates the factory over spray. The correct 1964 Minnesota license plates were added. These old original issue kits are better than money in the bank. A true investment that rise in value from year to year.
