This car was created from a resin
1958 Ford Fairlane 500 kit. it was
modified to a regular "not a 500"
Fairlane 2dr. sedan. This is a car
that was ordered by a lady in New
Jersey for her husband as a
surprise for Xmas, to depict his
real car. I worked off photos to
get the correct configuration.

All the 500 side and roof trim was
removed. Plastuct 3/64" T strips
was used for the new side trim
and sanded down. The tops of the
side windows required 1/16"
channel to get the chrome pieces
that the hardtop did not have. The
sedan pillars are from a 64 Ford
Fairlane Thunderbolt.

An AMT 57 Ford Fairlane kit was
used for many parts, such as
glass, under hood parts, chassis,
etc. It has a 390 engine that was
swiped from a Bullitt 67 Mustang.
The custom interior is
reconfigured to match the real
car. Tires are 70 series polyglas,
wheels are vintage AMT American
Racing mags. It has a B&M
automatic floor shift. Vent
window mirrors are from 48
Chevy. Wipers are 60 Chevy
modified to fit.

The chassis had to be modified to
accept the 390, and the
driveshaft shortened. Engine is
wired with Arrowhead Aluminum
Products distributor, cap, and
wires. Intake is done to resemble
an Edelbrock, the carb. is 4bbl
Holley. Master cylinder is from a
vintage 60 Chevy, Washer bag is
FOMOCO. Radiator is modified to
fit. Custom exhaust tips are
scratch built from aluminum.

the paint is custom mixed to match
real car, with a touch of pearl in
the blue. License plates were
done from photos, reduced to
1/25th scale and raising the dpi
to 1200 to make them readable,
they are New Jersey Historic. The
entire car was chromed using
Bare Metal Foil inside and out.
Many other things were done to
make this as correct as possible.
About the only things I used from
the resin kit was the body,
interior tub, and bumpers.
