This is a resin kit from Hendrix Resin.
I have built a few of of these hendrix cars and think
they are a good substantial casting. As with all resin
projects there are always more flaws to correct and
smoothing of panels to get them right. The 1955
Desoto Fireflite S-21 convertible is a real looker.
I airbrushed this one in the factory colors of Surf
White and Emberglow. No clearcoat as this was not
used in 55, but rather it is wet sanded and hand
rubbed to a mirror finish. This resin comes with no
chrome on the bumpers or hubcaps. They were sent
out for chroming.
The interior is highly detailed using photoetch pieces,
gauge faces and Bare Metal Foil. It had a push button
box on the dash but that was replaced with the
exclusive Powerflite automatic shifter in the dash.
Only used in 55 on the Desoto. Push buttons came in
1956. I also added the top of the dash Desoto clock
that was a unique feature to this car. Desoto also had
a very wide power brake pedal supported by two brake
pedal arms, this was built and installed.
The exterior was completely Bare Metal Foiled and
finely detailed. Note the photoetch metal tonneau
cover snaps, and the eights in the vee's, plus the door
locks and trunk lock. The Powerflite insignia was also
added below the trunk lid on the right. A Minnesota
1955 license plate was also added along with a metal
antenna and outside rear view mirror.
Make sure to check the pictures and enlarge them to
see many added details. This is one sweet ride.
